Our weekly roundup of dealers and distributors includes news from Marquis Yacht Center, Donovan Marine, Nauticomp, the Viking Yachts Dealer Meeting and Seakeeper.

The new Marquis Yacht Center recently opened at the Monaco Yacht Club, and the event included the debut of Marquis' newest yacht - the 500 Sport Bridge.

"Having a Marquis Yacht Center situated at the Monaco Yacht Club gives us a presence that is fitting for the Marquis brand," Marquis Yachts president Robert VanGrunsven said in a statement. "Through Nuvolari-Lenard design, superior materials and uncompromising American yacht construction quality we have given Marquis an ultra-premium character unequaled in other yachts of this same size range. The Monaco Yacht Club is an appropriate setting for Marquis."

The new center is one of four Marquis Yacht Centers in the world. Each center provides customers with a direct audio/visual communications link to the company's designers in Venice, Italy, and the yacht builders at the American Marquis boatyard.

"The environment of a Marquis Yacht Center has been developed specifically to make yacht selection, outfitting and commission a convenient and enjoyable experience for all involved," said Erik Nelson, vice president of sales and marketing for Marquis Yachts.

Marquis Yacht Centers have numerous new yachts on display. They are available for scheduled inspection and sea trials.

New boats were among the highlights of the annual Viking Yachts Dealer Meeting, held Sept. 7-8 at the Viking factory in New Gretna, N.J., and the Seaview Hotel in nearby Galloway Township.

In addition to domestic dealers, representatives from Viking's international network from Spain, Panama, Venezuela, Barbados, the Dominican Republic and Mexico attended.

The event began with a factory visit and a tour and sea trial of the new Viking 70 Convertible, which will premiere Oct. 28 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Dealers also climbed aboard a second new Viking for the 2011 model year, the 42 Convertible, the boatbuilder's first convertible integrated with a pod drive propulsion system.

After lunch, principals Bill Healey, Patrick Healey and Bob Healey Jr. took turns speaking about Viking's goals for the 2011 model year, new models and updates in the Viking fleet from 42 to 82 feet, manufacturing updates, and fall and winter boat show plans.
