Documentary on Karakalpak State Art Museum presented in Moscow | Kyrgyzstan News.Net
07.01.2011 10:55:35 The State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow hosted a presentation of a documentary titled "The Pearl of Uzbekistan" about the Karakalpak State Art Museum named after Savitsky in Nukus and about Igor Savitsky, who put a lot of effort into creating the said museum.
The event, which was organized by the Fund Forum, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow, and Mardjani Foundation, was attended by over 50 specialists, experts and art historians.
"The Pearl of Uzbekistan" focuses on the history of the Karakalpak State Art Museum named after Savitsky, his famous collection of works by Uzbek and Russian artists.
Within a short span of time the Museum in Nukus turned into a collection of roughly 90 thousand items, a fact that has no parallel anywhere in the world.
