The West Side's Museum Mile could actually a be a thing, if decommissioned space shuttle Enterprise has anything to do with it. The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum presented plans for a new building to Community Board 4 this week, and zoning changes, fundraising, and pesky parking lot ownership aside, it's pretty squeal-inducing. The 75,000 square foot space would have the shuttle at its center, plus classrooms, laboratories, a theater and rooftop restaurant. Intrepid President Susan Marenoff-Zausner said that as of a projected opening in 2014, the museum expects "300,000 additional visitors per year, 1,186 new jobs, and will generate about $143 million-a-year in revenue."
