The Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation recently made news after it donated $20 million to help with the completion of the High Line in New York City.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced the donation in a recent statement, saying it was a big step in the communities' effort to improve the way of life for residents. The foundation, established by IAC and Expedia chairman Barry Diller and wife Diane von Furstenberg, previously made news after giving $15 million to the same cause earlier.

Bloomberg said the power couple had long supported causes that would benefit many people.

"It’s not surprising that Barry and Diane - visionaries that they are - got in early on the High Line project," Bloomberg said in a statement. "But even better, they are seeing it through. Their generosity is leading the way for the High Line to become a New York icon that will be enjoyed for generations to come."

According to its website, the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation is a private charity founded in 1999 that seeks to improve opportunities for those in need.
