Constantine Ltd, Europe’s premier fine art handling, shipping and museum storage company, today announced that it’s parent company, the Constantine Group is celebrating its 125th anniversary. Constantine, a diversified, global art transportation and museum storage company, has remained in the same family since its inception in 1885, when the company was originally formed as a shipping company in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom.

Today, the Group has offices in Europe, the United States and the Middle East.

Constantine Ltd employs more than 100 staff members at its art crating and museum storage facilities in London and Glasgow. Both sites feature state-of-art storage and warehousing that meets the highest standards for museums and travelling exhibitions. The company continues to invest in sophisticated technological developments in art packing, logistics and storage, including bar-coded storage, individual storage rooms, environmental systems and detailed database and collections management systems.

Constantine’s Scotland facility outside of Glasgow is a high-security building that features bomb-proof, temperature-controlled storage vaults specially designed for the long-term storage of fine art and antiquities. The building also includes a separate storage area of more than 30,000 square feet for commercial storage.

The company also owns a fleet of specialized moving vehicles the offer air-ride suspension, climate control and satellite tracking.
