Results of Nagel’s ‘Rugs & Carpets’ 25 March 2013
The results of Nagel’s auction ‘Rugs & Carpets, Ethnographic Art’ on 25 March 2014 have been released. Among the highlights at this auction was a Medallion-Ushak circa 1750 which achieved a hammerprice € 36,000 (48,000 including buyers premium) compared with it’s estimate of € 30,000.
Lot 1, a Caucasian rug dated 1824 was a great surprice and achieved a hammerprice of € 21,000 (28,000 including buyers premium) compared with it’s far lower estimate of € 1,500. A souf silk Kashan carpet(lot 6), a Bulgarian Sarkoy kilim (lot 32), an Indian Mughal carpet (lot 33) and an ‘American’ Sarouk (lot 66) all achieved hammerprices above € 4,500.
